I remember one time a few years back, my friend McCrary had a big birthday party for his sister. He was about as bright as a black hole and had all the makings of a hippie mechanic with long hair, while she was a top scholar. It was the only time in his life that he used his head, got her friends all together at the house, and had them dance all night with a sound machines and fog.

Evangelicals have been criticized for holding a position against abortion and same-sex adoption and yet not doing enough to answer the problem of parentless children. In an effort to answer this criticism, evangelical leaders are encouraging churchgoers to consider adoption or foster care.
With backing from Focus on the Family and best-selling author Rick Warren, the effort to promote “orphan care” among the nation’s estimated 65 million evangelicals could drastically reduce foster care rolls if successful.

It is part of the Jehovah Witness faith to never accept a blood transfusion, including platelets, hemoglobin, or other blood derivatives. Members of the JW church are expected to die or let their children die rather than accept a blood transfusion. They get this dangerous belief from Old Testament law that prohibits the eating of blood. Doctors are being required to learn alternatives to blood transfusions during surgery in order to treat JW patients. One alternative is blood salvaging, where the doctors collect the patient’s own blood and, after filtering and washing it, transfer it back to the patient.

Virtuous women can now advertise their virtue - on their wrist, neck, and other pulse points. The perfume is called “Virtue,” and will only set you back 80 bucks. The creators claim that the perfume will remind the wearer of her “spiritual self” and that they were divinely inspired to create the formula. All of the “fragrance elements” were drawn from “Biblical text”.
