Presbyterian church reiterates ban on ordaining gays

The Presbyterian church’s Permanent Judicial Commission of the General Assembly has clarified the denomination’s policy on ordaining gays. The church does not allow gays and lesbians to be ordained unless they are living a single life of chastity. They have now asserted that this policy also applies to candidates for ministry, the first step along the path to ordination.
