It seems that if you convert to Orthodox Judaism here in the states, that doesn’t necessarily make you an Orthodox Jew in Israel. US and Israeli Orthodox rabbis had come to an agreement on conversion guidelines, until US rabbis read in Monday’s Jerusalem Post that Israel may not recognize North America’s conversion courts. The main reason the story is interesting? For once it’s not Christians arguing amongst themselves!
